So basically, what you will be doing when you finally get to medicine 100 Level is a breakdown and summary of what you did while in secondary school;.
The courses you study is same as all other medical students such as anatomy, physiology, Medical Biochemistry and a lot more.

Meaning of Medicine 100 Level Courses
Now I guess that you do not have much knowledge on what all these courses above are all about. Do not worry, I will help you.
I am going to tell you what they entail and the O Level subjects they are meant to test you on, as well as the ones that should be taken as a priority so that you can start preparing right away.
So let us explain what those courses mean
Diversity of Plants
This is actually similar to biology but it deals mainly with plant, you University may call it PBB or botany. This particular course deals with plant cells as well as the various classification of plants such as the bacteria, algae, fungi, bryophytes, pteridophytes, gymnosperms and a lot more. So if you have forgotten about these aspects of Biology, you better go clean up your books and study.
Just keep in mind that you will have to get used to the various names as they are important in order to pass well.
This is the animal aspect of biology and it deals with the ecosystem of animals (human inclusive), by saying the ecosystem, I do not mean the topic called ecosystem along, it ranges from ecosystems, food chain, biogeochemical cycles, species diversity, population, temperature even down to sex determination, variation fossil records and evolution.
So if you are studying for this course, I would aspect you to read everything relating to animal biology except from the systems and organs section.
As you well know, chemistry is divided into two parts which are general chemistry and organic chemistry.
So this course entails any topic that is not under organic chemistry such as atoms, isotopes, theories and laws, chemical bonding, acid, base and salt, periodic table as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis.
So if you are studying for this course, read everything in chemistry that is not related to organic chemistry.
Now this is everything under organic chemistry such as functional groups, the homologous series, alkanes, alkenes and the like of them. So if you are studying using abiabio, This is found in the section called Organic chemistry.
Practical physic as the name implies are those aspect of physics that can be performed in the laboratory such as electricity, thermal elasticity and others.
Mechanics, Thermal Physics and Properties of Matter
As the name implies, it has to do with the Mechanical, thermal and physical aspect of physics, such as motion and heat.
Vibration, Wave and Optics
This is often referred to as the wave course. It encompasses all the various topics in physics that has to do with waves such as sound, light and others
Use of English Language
Basic English studies, it is under general studies and is a most for all students. do not panic, it is not actually difficult
Philosophy and Logic
This talks about most theologies that are being studied by art students and is also under general studies. It will talk about people like socrates, aristotle and their teachings. It also has some abstract parts like types and form of statement. It just actually what law students study and I will not advise you study it unless you have the University’s textbook on the course.
Now this is the aspect of human biology that has to do with the systems and organs of the body. So you will be learning in detail the various systems of the body and the organs that make them up.
Electromagnetism and Modern Physics
Personally, this was my most dreaded course while I was still in school. It encompasses all the part of physics I always ran away from while I was in Secondary school.
I you haven’t still gotten what I am talking about, it is the course that deals with waves, simple circuit, electromagnetic effect and the rest of that.
Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution
This is one out of the three general study courses you will have to pass in your 100 Level and it basically talks of basic conflict management skills
Nigerian People and Culture
If you love the culture of Nigeria or not, you will surely love this course. All it does is giving you an insight into what major religions and cultures in Nigeria belief and practice. To me it is like a story telling course.
History and Philosophy of Science
This is the savior of medical students when it comes to general studies as it is a summary of the basic science subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, geography and a lot more.
Now you know what you are eventually going to face when school resumes. Even if you get admitted into any related course like anatomy, physiotherapy, medical laboratory Science or Biochemistry, the differences is not different.
Also I just want to let you know that if you are a student of Medicine & Surgery, you will not need to offer mathematics in your 100 Level in the University.
However, if you are in any other related course apart from dentistry, you might be forced to offer maths.
